SANTA FE (KRQE) - A Chimayo man with four DWI arrests has been charged again with driving drunk and also with child abuse because he had his four young kids in the car.

Santa Fe County Sheriff’s officials say 33-year-old Steve Sanchez was highly intoxicated when he was pulled over on Airport Road around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

Deputies say Sanchez almost hit a patrol car before he was pulled over. He also tried to give officers a fake name.

The children riding with Sanchez ranged in ages from 3-year-old to 12-years-old.

Sanchez is being held on a no-bond hold.
