ESPAÑOLA, N.M. (KRQE) - Police agencies across the Southwest are on alert for a man who so far is only being called a person of interest in a fatal stabbing in Española Wednesday night.

Officers are looking for Guillermo Arrellano, 31, to question about a fight at a mobile home in the 600 block of Fairview Lane.

UPDATE:  Arrellano was arrested Thursday afternoon in Santa Fe.

The initial call to police reported a stabbing, but that was soon followed by a report of gunshots. When officers arrived, they found Adolpho Chavez, 27, of La Madera stabbed to death in the driveway.

According to investigators, after Chavez was stabbed, people with him ran to their trailer nearby and came back to Arrellano's home with guns blazing. Arrellano apparently escaped without injury.

There is no word yet Chavez's friends will be charged in the case.

Police believe Arrellano, who is originally from California, may be headed back there. They also say he may be in the Santa Fe area.
