ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Two New Mexico brothers charged with murder are on the run.

Joe Lawrence Gallegos and Andrew "Smiley" Gallegos have long and violent criminal records, according to New Mexico State Police.

The pair is alleged to have killed Adrian Burns, 28, whose body was found Monday night near a burning car in the Rio Grande bosque south of Belen.

Burns and the Gallegos brothers are from Los Lunas.

State Police are not releasing details about the cause of death or the motive.
