RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) - A student at Rio Rancho High School admitted he set a fire in a school bathroom earlier this month.
Rio Rancho police say the 16-year-old boy lit the fire and told one other teen. The second student eventually told school staff.
The school was evacuated for 45 minutes.
The teen who set the fire has been charged with arson, bringing a deadly weapon onto school grounds and criminal damage to property.
Both students have been suspended for 10 days. Their names have not been released.
