ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The woman accused of shooting a man in a busy casino parking garage failed to keep a judge from setting a high bond on Saturday.
Amanda Chavez is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in the March 5 shooting of Luis Tobanche at Sandia Casino.
Tobanche was shot in the neck but survived. Police said Chavez fled after the shooting.
She later told police she feared Tobanche was going to shoot at her and claims he had done that before.
On Saturday the judge, citing the seriousness of the charge against Chavez, raised her bond to $100,000.
She remains jailed at the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center.
