ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man familiar to police has been charged with a felony after witnesses say he claimed to have a bomb on an Albuquerque city bus.

Jeremy Chosa, 35, was charged with making a threat, a fourth-degree felony.

Police received a call around 11 a.m. about an ABQ Ride passenger saying he had a bomb.

With the bus stopped near Montgomery and Morris NW, police blocked off streets and told students at a nearby elementary school and Central New Mexico Community College campus to stay indoors.

Chosa, who has a history of mental issues and threatening police, told officers he was just kidding and was sorry.
