ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man suspected in multiple armed robberies is barricaded in his northeast Albuquerque apartment drawing the SWAT team and shutting down a busy street.

The standoff began about 5:15 p.m. when Albuquerque Police Department officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Chris Perea,  27, who is wanted for robberies here and in other states.

He is believed to be in an apartment complex on the southeast corner of Montgomery and Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania is closed from Montgomery south to Hendrix Avenue, an APD spokesman said.
