ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - It was a harsh lesson for one Albuquerque aunt.

A judge ordered an Albuquerque aunt to stay away from her niece and nephew after police say she put them in serious danger Saturday night.

Crystal Armijo faced a judge Sunday on child abuse charges.

A criminal complaint says police pulled Armijo over Saturday night going 80 mph in a 40 mile per hour zone in the north valley.

When cops peeked inside her car they found an open bottle of beer and another bottle of alcohol in the passenger seat.

Police say her 8-year-old niece and 7-year-old nephew where in the back seat.

Armijo learned she will not be seeing them for a while.

“Maintain contact with your attorney, avoid all contact with the alleged victims or anyone that may testify on this matter,” Judge Henry Alaniz said.

Armijo is being held on a $5,000 bond
