911 call set stage for wild cop chase

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Terrifying details of a gunman holding up a burger joint--a crime that indirectly led to a wild chase through urban Albuquerque --are contained in the 911 call released to KRQE News 13.

The call came from a Blake's Lotaburger on Central Avenue SE on Jan. 24:

911 dispatcher:  "Did he rob you?"
Lotaburger manager:  "Yeah, he robbed me.  Yeah, he just robbed me, man."
911 dispatcher:  "With a gun?"
Lotaburger manager:  "Yeah, he put a gun near me, man."

Some time later police rushed to a second Blake's at Lomas Boulevard NE at Pennsylvania Avenue after the manager thought she saw the robber and feared she was going to be held up.

Instead, when officers arrived, Daniel Archuleta took off at high speed driving what turned out to be a stolen SUV, according to the criminal complaint.

Police gave chase but backed off to let a helicopter track the SUV as it blew through red lights and stops signs narrowly missing other vehicles including a school bus.

Twenty minutes later officers converged on Coal Avenue SE where Archuleta pulled into a front yard and surrendered in a scene broadcast live from Sky News 13 .

Archuleta is charged with aggravated eluding and transferring or receiving a stolen vehicle.

The gunman who sparked the original 911 call fled the first Blake's and remains at large.
