ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A midmorning shooting in the South Valley killed one man and put his friend in the hospital with gunshot wounds.

The gunfire broke out around 10 a.m. at a home on South De Baca Circle SW near Isleta Boulevard and Arenal Road.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office is investigating, and no arrests have been made.

According to deputies the survivor, shot in the hip and lower back, was able to call 911 for help.  When responding officers arrived, they found the second man already dead from multiple bullet wounds.

No names have been released, and the victims have only be described as middle-age men who were friends.

Investigators also are not releasing details about how the shooting went down or a possible motive and suspects.

However they did say those involved knew each other.
