CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) - The Eddy County Sheriff's Office reports Dover Magby has died from crushing head injuries sustained while working with oilfield equipment.

Magby, 49, of Dexter may have been crushed while standing between two pieces of equipment that cycle and fill up with drilling mud, according to investigators.

The incident happened on Saturday at a United Drilling site in southern Chaves County, the Carlsbad Current-Argus reported.

Magby was taken to the hospital but died from severe head trauma.

An investigation is underway.
