ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The University of New Mexico is taking a look at possibly removing the Chick-fil-A restaurant from campus after a student-government group voted to give the popular restaurant the boot.
The Associated Students of the University of New Mexico approved a resolution last week to replace the Chick-fil-A with another restaurant.
A student spokesman said they want the restaurant gone to make it more comfortable for minority groups, especially lesbian and gay students, after the operating officer of the company made public comments against same-sex marriage last year .
The university's Student Union Board was meeting at midday and was expected to discuss the resolution.
