NM honors veterans on Veterans Day

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Dozens of bars and restaurants around New Mexico are honoring veterans Sunday with food and drink specials.

Applebee’s, Golden Corral, Chili’s, Village Inn, subway, Denny’s, Krispy Kreme, Lowes and Home Depot are offering military discounts.

There are also some events honoring veterans:

• There was a ceremony at 11 a.m. Sunday morning at the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial State Park in Angel Fire. It's free to get in the park for military veterans and active duty service members
• In Albuquerque, there was a Veterans Day ceremony from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday at Veterans Memorial Park at 1100 Louisiana southeast. Ceremonies this year are focusing on World War II veterans. The parade starts at 9 a.m. starting at the U.S.S. Bullhead Memorial Park at San Pedro south of Gibson.
• There is a Veterans Day parade Sunday in Corrales. It starts at 2 p.m. at the San Ysidro Church and runs thru the village.
• Sunday night, Albuquerque’s Kimo Theater is offering a free showing of V-Day at 6:30 p.m. The documentary shows who the men and women who made Veteran's Day. There's a question and answer period after the documentary. The Kimo is at 423 Central Avenue downtown.
