Service Monday for teen killed in crash

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) - A public memorial service for Cleveland High School sophomore Adrian Garcia Jr. is scheduled for Monday evening at the school in Rio Rancho.

Garcia, 16, died on his way to classes Thursday morning when his car veered into oncoming traffic on Paseo del Volcán and hit a pickup truck head-on .

The mother and daughter in the pickup were injured.

The memorial service begins at 7 p.m. in the Cleveland concert hall .

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Church of the Incarnation with the funeral Mass to be said there at 10 am. Wednesday.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash and have no additional information available for public release, a spokesman said Saturday.
