Offical 2012 Face of FOX Contest Rules

ALBUQUERQUE (2KASA FOX) - NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.  A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.

1. HOW TO ENTER

[a.] The Face of Fox Contest will begin on Saturday, July 14, 2012 and end on Friday, October 5, 2012.

[b.] Two (2) options to enter:

[b.1.] Fill out the entry form and submit a one minute video to www.kasa.com beginning on Saturday , July 14, 2012. The video should be about yourself and why you would be the best Face of Fox.  Only one entry per person will be accepted; multiple entries will be disqualified.  Do not use licensed or copyrighted music, video or still pictures in your video submission.  If a video submission contains inappropriate content, in the sole discretion of the station, the contestant will be disqualified.  Entry form must be completely filled out to qualify an entrant. Deadline for entries is 11:59pm MST Friday, August 17, 2012.

[b.2.] Or complete the Face of Fox application and bring the required photo identification with you to the local Face of Fox Casting Call on either Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 11 am to 3 pm or Friday, August 10, 2012 from 11 am to 3 pm at Coronado Mall located at 6600 Menaul NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Live auditions limited to the first 100 contestants.  Be prepared to tape up to 1 minute telling us why you should be the next Face of 2 KASA FOX. Videos will be posted at kasa.com. The auditions will be managed by a “number in line” system. Numbers will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. A number will be issued only when a completed application and other required documents are presented. Each potential contestant will have up to one minute in front of a panel of judges as well as a brief on-camera interview.  Do not use licensed or copyrighted music, video, or still pictures in your video.  If a video contains inappropriate content, in the sole discretion of the station, the contestant will be disqualified.  Entry forms must be completely filled out to qualify an entrant.

[c.] For the avoidance of doubt, in either entry method, videos MUST NOT include any recognizable logos or branding on shirts, hats, posters, signs, etc. Videos MUST NOT include copyrighted materials or images. Videos MUST NOT include any copyrighted music.  Video submissions MUST NOT contain any specific personal contact information about yourself or others. An individual may submit only one video for the duration of the promotion.  Failure to obey these requirements may lead to disqualification.  The Station is not responsible for Internet transmission errors, illegible entries, service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions and any other technological difficulties that may prevent transmitting his/her entry.

[d.] Applications for the live casting call will only be considered eligible if they are complete. Eligible applications include:

[d.1.] A Completed 2012 APPLICATION from kasa.com or completed application provided at The Face of Fox Casting Call as listed above.

[d.2.] COPY of  Current, Valid  Driver’s license

[e.] Applications for the online entries will only be considered eligible if they are complete, and entrants agree that they are above the age of twenty one (21) through online validation.

2. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION

[a.] Decisions of the Station management with respect to the contest are final.

[b.] Beginning Monday, July 23, 2012, qualified online submissions will be posted to kasa.com. Videos and contestant bios can be viewed but not voted on at this time.

[c.] After the live casting call on Friday, August 10, 2012, and after the online video submission deadline of 11:59pm MST Friday, August 17, 2012 has passed, 2 KASA FOX will post all eligible videos on kasa.com. 

[d.] Beginning Monday, August 20, 2012, viewers will be able to log onto kasa.com and vote for their favorite eligible contestant(s) by watching that contestant’s full video.  Each video must be watched in its entirety in order to register a vote.  Individuals may watch full videos of various contestants.

[e.] Judges votes count for 75% of each contestant’s final score.  Online votes count as 25% of the contestant’s final score toward the selection of the winner.  Online voting will close on Friday, August 24, 2012, at 11:50 PM MST.  Judges want to see personality, star quality, and enthusiasm.  Top candidates will be energetic, fun-to-watch spokespeople who can represent 2 KASA Fox on-air and online.  The expert panel judges will make their decision based on on-camera performance, originality of effort, personality, as well as mastery of web and mobile communication systems.

[f.] On Monday, August 27, 2012, the Top 20 contestants will be contacted by 2 KASA Fox employees and their videos and bios (supplied by contestants) will be posted on kasa.com. At this time, viewers will then be able to log onto kasa.com and vote for their favorite contestant(s) out of the Top 20 by watching an entire video. Each video must be watched in its entirety in order for it to register a vote.  Judges votes count for 75% of each contestant’s score. Online votes count as 25% of the contestant’s final score toward the selection of the winner, voting will close on Friday, August 31, 2012, at 11:59pm MST.

[g.] The Top 20 will be required to come into the 2 KASA Fox studios during the week of August 27, 2012 for the next evaluation process. This includes an interview session with our panel of judges as well as another video tape audition. The Top 20 must also be available to appear on New Mexico Style on 2 KASA Fox, live, on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 7:30am to 9am.

[h.] After video roll votes and judge votes are computed, on Monday, September 3, 2012, the Top 10 contestants will be contacted by the station and their videos and bios (supplied by contestants) will be posted on kasa.com. At this time, viewers will then be able to log onto kasa.com and vote for their favorite contestant out of the Top 10. Each video must be watched in its entirety in order for it to register a vote.  Judges votes count for 75% of each contestant’s score. Online votes count as 25% of the contestant’s final score toward the selection of the winner, voting will close on Friday, September 7, 2012, at 11:59pm MST.

[i.] The Top 10 will be required to come into the 2 KASA Fox studios during the week of September 3, 2012 for the next evaluation process. This could include an interview session with our panel of judges as well as another video tape audition. The Top 10 must also be available to appear on New Mexico Style on 2 KASA Fox, live, on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 7:30am to 9am.

[j.] After video roll votes and judge votes are computed, on Monday, September 10, 2012, the Top 5 contestants will be contacted by the station and their videos and bios (supplied by contestants) will be posted on kasa.com.   Online voting will no longer be tabulated after the top 5 are chosen.  Judges votes count for 100% of each contestant’s final score at that point.

[k.] On Monday, September 24, 2012, the top 5 finalists will be announced on New Mexico Style on 2 KASA Fox and posted on kasa.com. Each week The Top Five Finalists will be given an assignment as determined by the show’s Executive Producer. Most assignments will take place in studio and at various sponsor locations.  The Station will decide whether and/or how to use any content taped as part of this process.

[l.] On Thursday, September 27, 2012, the Top 5 contestant videos and bios will be posted on kasa.com.

[m.] The Top 5 Finalists may be asked to appear at various station events in the community and on the program New Mexico Style on 2 KASA Fox.  The Station will decide whether and/or how to use any content taped as part of this process.

[n.] Judges votes count for 100% of each contestant’s final score in order to get to the winner.  .  Judges want to see personality, star quality, and enthusiasm.  Top candidates will be energetic, fun-to-watch spokespeople who can represent 2 KASA Fox on-air and online.  The expert panel judges will make their decision based on on-camera performance, originality of effort, personality, as well as mastery of web and mobile communication systems.

[o.] The winner of the Face of Fox Contest will be announced during New Mexico Style, airing 8-9AM, on 2 KASA Fox, Friday. October 5, 2012. Winner MUST present to win.

[p.] Creative assignments are required for a chance to win and may include blogging as well as attending various scheduled station and/or station sponsored events. All finalists will be required to create their own online promotional tactics via social media sites, face to face and guerilla marketing at their own expense.

[q.] All finalists will have both a criminal background and driving record check.

[r.] Winner must execute and return the required 2 KASA Fox contract and liability/publicity release within ten (10) days of notification attempt or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be chosen by a combination of judging panel votes, background check and station management input.  If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to sign and return the required contract and liability/publicity release within the required time period, or if a prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, potential winner forfeits prize.  The liability/publicity release needs to be filled out by all Top 10 before we send them on any assignments.  Failure to sign will disqualify.

[s.] Winner must be willing to sign a contract to work for the Station for a one full year from 10/5/12 – 10/5/13. Winner must have access to his/her own transportation for some shoots, appearances and recordings.

[t.] It is the winner’s responsibility to make any necessary arrangements to be able to participate in all tapings and various appearances both during the weekdays, nights and weekends. The winner will be featured in New Mexico Style on-air, radio, print, digital media, and any other elements within the station’s image.

[u.] ONE ENTRY PER PERSON. Contestants can either come to the live casting call or submit a video. They cannot do both. Application materials must be provided at the time of live casting call audition as well as when online video is submitted. Emailed or mailed applications will not be accepted.

[v.] All applications, photos and material recorded at local Face of Fox Casting Call will be retained by 2 KASA Fox and become the property of the Station and will not be returned to the applicants.

[w.] All dates, times and locations and requirements listed in these official rules and in the application are subject to change.

3. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS

[a.] The contest is open to all 2 KASA Fox viewers who are 21 years of age or older.

[b.] Employees of 2 KASA Fox (the “Station”), its licensee, its corporate parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, its advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, and the members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate or win.  Subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.  Void where prohibited.

[c.] Only one winner per household is permitted in any Station contest.

[d.] Applicant must hold a valid Driver’s License and be authorized to work in the United States.

[e.] Applicant must not be a candidate for public office, and if selected as the Face of Fox, must agree not to become a candidate for public office until after the Face of Fox contracted term of one year.

4. PRIZES

[a.] Grand prize package is a one (1) year employment contract with LIN Television Corporation d/b/a KRQE/KASA.  The TV Personality will be a full-time contract employee and will be paid an hourly rate of $14.42 for an annual salary of $30,000 (subject to taxes and other withholdings required by law) with full benefits, subject to LIN’s employment policies, for the contract year. The TV Personality’s working schedule will be determined in advance by 2 KASA FOX.

[b.] Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winners.  Winners may be required to sign an IRS Forms or the equivalent The Station in its sole discretion may require contestants (and their travel companions, if any) to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold the Station, its corporate licensee, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated corporations, and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.

[c.] There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes, except that the Station may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash.  The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses.  Other restrictions may apply.

[d.] If the winning TV Personality cannot fulfill the 1 year employment contract or violates the employment guidelines for 2 KASA FOX has the option to ask the second or third place winner to assume the remainder of the contract.  If the original TV Personality defaults on the contract, the second or third place runner-up will be paid on the same hourly basis for the months remaining in the original TV Personality contract year.

[e.] The winner must sign an employment agreement with 2 KASA FOX to claim the prize and must satisfactorily perform all services under the agreement in order to be paid.

[f.] Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.

[g.] All contestants agree to the use of his/her/their name(s) and likeness(es) in publicity and programming without any additional compensation.  By entering this promotion, contestants acknowledge that 2 KASA FOX, kasa.com , KRQE-TV, krqe.com, and all other sponsors and venues have the right to publicize and broadcast his/her/their name, voice and likeness, the fact that he/she/they competed, and all matters incidental thereto.  All contestants agree that the nature of this promotion requires auditions and tryouts that will not include any compensation for contestants.  No employer-employee relationship will be formed between the sponsors and any contestant.

[h.] By entering this promotion, each entrant forever discharges and releases 2 KASA FOX, kasa.com, KRQE-TV, krqe.com, LIN Television, sponsors and their respective corporate parents, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability, claims, causes of action, suits, and demands of any kind arising from or in connection with the promotion, including, without limitation, responsibility for property damage, loss of life or personal injury resulting from or in connection with participating in the promotion or from or in connection with use or receipt of the prize(s), however caused. 

6. CONDITIONS

[a.] Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winners.  Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.

[b.] The Station reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement. If due to circumstances beyond the control of the Station, any competition or prize-related event is delayed, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled, the Station reserves the right, but not the obligation, to cancel or modify the contest and shall not be required to award a substitute prize.

[c.] Failure to comply with the contest rules or the Station’s website Terms of Service may result in an entrant’s disqualification solely at the discretion of the Station.

[d.] The Station is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest, or in the announcement of a prize.
