FOX - Named by his grandfather for “Spirit” or “Silent Friend” in the language of Blackfeet Indians, Mykelti Williamson has built a reputation as one of the most consistent actors in the business, delivering stirring and honest performances that capture audiences.

Born in St. Louis, Williamson began performing on stage at age nine. Soon after, his family moved to California where he continued his education, eventually graduating from the Gene Evans Motion Picture School in San Jose, CA. Later, Williamson began working professionally, appearing on several television shows.

His performance in the Academy Award-winning feature “Forrest Gump” opposite Tom Hanks earned Williamson critical raves, propelling him into films such as “Heat,” “Lucky Number Slevin,” “August Rush” and “ATL.” He has appeared on television in the critically acclaimed dramas “Boomtown,” “Kidnapped” and “CSI: NY.” Williamson’s forthcoming film credits include “Black Dynamite,” “Ball Don’t Lie,” “High School” and “The Final Destination.”

An aviation enthusiast and devoted family man, Williamson enjoys being active in his church, restoring classic cars and flying in his free time. He currently lives in Southern California with his wife and his three daughters.
