NM Style Co-host, Kristen Van Dyke

KASA - Being an outdoors lover, I'm very excited about hiking, biking and snowboarding in New Mexico. I've lived in South Carolina my whole life, so this has been a big change for me. I have family in Colorado and Arizona and they've always talked about how beautiful it is out here - I'm so excited about the opportunity to experience it myself. 

The people I've met have been very nice and I look forward to meeting more people from this area. I'm also LOVING the food here! I'm open to trying new things and so far it's all been good.

I became fascinated with weather after Hurricane Hugo tore through my home town when I was a little girl.

I graduated from College of Charleston with a B.A. in Mass Communications and then earned the Certificate of Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

I was a meteorologist for the Myrtle Beach (ABC - WPDE TV-15) area for four years and am enjoying the new challenges of forecasting for the southwest. I'm a member of the American Meteorological Society and was awarded the awarded the A.M.S. Seal of Approval in February 2010.

I look forward to making this my new home and meeting new people and seeing new places.
